It was six years ago when Rick and his team were last in Haiti. Covid and then the unrest in the Capital city have been the issues. Fortunately, with video calls and safe and effective fund transfers we have been able to stay connected
and support Belade’s ministry, but nothing is like a personal visit!
It was a busy time preparing for the annual MEPHISH
conference that draws from the dozen or so
churches spread throughout the south west region.
Some people walk for days to reach the celebration
and Belade and his wife Jo make sure all are fed
physically as well as spiritually. Rick also had
opportunity to share God’s words of encouragement
with the people. The spirit filled Haitian worship is
always a special treat.

Please keep Haiti in your prayers that stability and
peace will prevail for these beautiful people.
Rick reports that the country is greener and trees have
grown up following previous years of hurricane damage.
Belade’s fields are doing
well though some crops
were lost last season due
to excessive rain.
The Les Cayes area has
grown in population, due
to people moving out of
Port-Au-Prince, but Rick
felt very safe.

The Compound where he stayed was extremely welcoming
comfortable, affordable
and provided his daily
meals.

With the expansion of the Les Cayes runway there is now a
direct flight to Les Cayes from Miami, avoiding Port-Au-Prince
entirely. Les Cayes Airport

We are hoping and praying that Belade will be able to visit
here this year as well.
