Personal Update on Haiti

Update from Belade November 18, 2024

Good afternoon everyone. 

I am very sad to share the news nowadays about our own country Haiti. Cause, it is sooo sad by explaining them. As those very bad things happened are not happened into a black bottle, as they are opened, I think every thing is on News papers. It is not a secret for the rest of the world. 

In Port-Au-Prince nowadays, we simply have Petio-Ville that is left without being under the gangs controlling power. All the others are under Gangs control. Everywhere to cross, you are to pay gangs to circulate in the streets. The last dropped was the airport. They want to have the airport control. Like you probably could here it in the news, they shoot on several airplane company. So, our International airport is closed nowadays. My Brother living in Port-au-Prince can’t reach me in Cayes to save his skin with his family. Gangs have all the control on the sea and all the roads.

Food and Gas and first aid and water are luxury there like it used to be since several years. Please pray for my brother’s safety. Gangs almost reach his house nowadays. Everywhere gangs cross, the population is obliged to give up and leave their home and try to reach safe place like schools and other places that seems to be safe. But, many among them are in the streets, sleeping and making everything. Many houses are burned. Many people are killed. 1,2,3 month old babies are sleeping in the streets. 

It is a devastation and desolation we have in our country. Us, in the South suffer it very deep. But, us Mephish, thanks to your contribution, we can pay our teachers, we can feed some works handled by some churches in a small way; we can pay some government taxes.  God has not forsaken us!
